Some time ago I issued a bookbuying ban on myself, seeing as I had so much half read and unread stuff lying around. So one of the things I was going to want to improve this year, was finishing things I start properly; it has kinda been a curse all my life that I never follow that through. And starting with the things that doesnt matter seems easier than the harder choices in life, anyway.
For example, a list of books and games and such I am currently reading/playing:
Entertaining books currently in progress:
-Eisenhorn by Dan Abnett.
-The Stormcaller by Tom Lloyd.
-Return of the Crimson Guard by Ian C. Eisslemont.
Entertaining books shelfed waiting for love:
-Snow Crash by Neal Stephenson
-The Tyranny of the Night by Glen Cook
-Survivor by Chuck Palahniuk
-Feast of Souls by C. S. Friedman
-Goblet of Fire by J. K. Rowling
Serious books in progress:
-The Brothers Karamazov by Dostoyevsky
-All Under Heaven by Kruger
-The Histories by Herodotus
Serious books taking shelfspace:
-Shiva by Storl
-Ethics in everyday Hindu life by Prasad
-A History of India by John Keay
-The Holy Bible by Some People
And these are just the books.. Considering I am at least equally bad when it comes to games, no wonder I seldom finish anything. And obviously this goes on to every other thing I do too.
I want to finish all the entertaining books before buying anything else, and I hope I can finish at least 1-2 of the serious book this year. So if I start reviewing other books please slap or punch me in the face...
And when it comes to games, a list of the ones I am dabbling with just from the top of my head:
-World of Warcraft
-Heroes of Might and Magic V
-Shadow of the Colossus
-Resident Evil 4
-Icewind Dale 2
Come to think of it, if I actually try to finish all of this stuff, will it actually be room for new stuff until 2011? :S
